Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sumire Kaoru, an innovative player of the Chikuzen Five-String Biwa, to our studio. We conducted an experiment to see how the MSP Pickup by 123sound.jp could handle the unique structural demands of this historic instrument. [ Koto (Japanese stringed instrument) × MSP pickup ] Sound source of a Koto performance on an event stage

Image
The sound source in this video was recorded at an event with a smart phone build-in mic. MSP pickup mic is attached on the bottom sound board of the Koto and connected to a Roland mini amp. MSP pickup can be easily installed with magnets. <Patents granted> For more information: https://123sound.jp/msp_e.html ---------------------------------------- Her review:  屋外で小型のアンプしか持っていなかったので、 そこにMSPピックアップを繋いだだけなのですが、 想像以上に音が良かったように思いました。 私はただの箏愛好者で、音響の知識もないのですが、音に角がなく、自分が求める柔らかな音色が出せたと思います。 マイクのブームは持ち出しだと大変だし、譜面台とブームの脚がぶつかったり、セッティングに時間がかかります。 でも今回は、マグネットでつけただけ。 荷物も少ないし、とても楽でした。 ---------------------------------------- | 123sound.jp (MSP pickup company site) | 123sound.jp SHOP | #kotopickup #okotomic #okotoperformance #MSPpickup #magneticpickup #installingtoKOTO #123sound #magneticinstallation

Yu Soda, who bills himself as a musician having nature spirit, tried our MSP pickup on uncommon musical instruments: Kora (a west African stringed instrument with 21 strings), Kalimba (an African thumb piano), Yukin (a small harp), and Handpan. To reduce rustling noises made when instruments are touched and clicking noises made when attaching/removing the MSP pickup, he uses a rubber sheet or a cushion sticker on the side of MSP pickup facing instruments.  MSP pickup is a piezoelectric transducer contact pickup, passive type for acoustic musical instruments.  The MSP installation which has obtained international patents is innovative.
